My Facebook account disabled! Why ? [kwiqq]

Right so I started a new community for people who enjoy Salsa dancing in Brighton, Anderstand.com. Now I wanted to tell all my Facebook friends about it, but obviously Facebook doesn’t allow me to send emails to all my friends. So I decided to email my real friends and user’s on my friend AaronGeorge’s Salsa Dance group.
I started sending emails one after the other (remember personally addressed to each user) and guess what Facebook banned my freakin’ account! Was it really spamming ? NOPE
Here are some facts about the people I sent the emails to:
- They were all interested in Salsa
- They are based in Brighton
- I didn’t use any desktop application to generate these emails.
- The email were addressed to each recipient.
This wouldn’t have happened on Bebo or Myspace. How else am I suppose to contact Brightonians who I know are interested in Salsa ?
I have spent god knows how many hours building my profile on Facebook. Inviting friends, building facebook applications and adding value to Facebook. Recommending this rather stupid social network to my clients and friends. The least I want to do is use the facilities to contact users on my network and tell them about things they are genuinely interested in.
My question to facebook is:
- Why can’t I contact people in my network ?
- Why don’t you let me contact people I know, should I be using my Gmail account instead of Facebook to contact them ?
- When will you guys at Facebook stop being Jerks ?
This is pathetic ! Now I’m almost tempted to start a new social network for people who have been banned from Facebook. I know there is Robert Scoble who would potentially join me.
