Should management go next doors ? [kwiqq]

Kwiqq HQ is based in the Sussex Innovation Centre based on Sussex University Science Park. We love the location: it is buzzy, startupish, nice meeting rooms, full of energy and a lot of fun.

Brighton, East Sussex, BN19SB - Google Maps_1223042279028 by you.

At Kwiqq we are growing in size. It has come to the point that we need new office. Although the issue is we don’t want to leave SINC, this is where we feel at home. All big rooms in the building are occupied we will have to split the team up into smaller rooms, dotted around the building :-(

Management + Programming

Server admin, Colin, Raj and Jack’s desk

Design Team

Dan, Lucy and Daniele’s desk

We did everything we could: Got new furniture, tried various office layouts etc. At Kwiqq we don’t have bosses, it is a flat management structure and we are proud of promoting innovation by giving power to the people (i.e. staff). So how should we split the team: Sales/Marketing and Dev/Designer, micro team (1 developer, 1 project manager, 1 designer) or random (play musical chairs everyday) ?

Nice looking, open offices! Good luck. I like the microteam approach of one manager, one developer, and one designer. Keep it tight and keep it focused.

Thanks for your thoughts Allan. I have a feeling we might go with a microteam :-) . By the way read your bio on Allantyoung.com, sounds really interesting !
