An interesting article in the Media Post concreted the advantages of investing in online teen marketing. Although teens are spending less time on average online, compared to adults (24-35) online, they are able to recall the ads better. They also seem to engage more with the advertisements which implies that they are into viral games, social platforms, quizzes etc as compared to their adult counter parts.

While teens watch less online video than most adults, they report that the ads are highly engaging…they recall ads better when watching TV shows online than they do on the tube.

Further, a survey conducted by WeeWorld revealed that 45% of 4,200 teens who participated spend more time online and belong to at least two online communities.

Teen Cash Cows

The survey conducted by WeeWorld revealed that 34% of teens would pay for “anything fun” online, 22% would pay for self expression, and 13% would shell out to get access to exclusive areas in games etc. To comfort marketers the funds to make purchases will come from allowances (i.e. pocket money), with 31% of the kids revealing that they receive more money now than in the past.
