Sell online products like Colgate sells toothpastes! [kwiqq]

I have been reading this ebook for the last few days. Not a typical social media book but certainly interesting if you are looking to get into creating sales channels. People often forget that social networks or any online product for that matter, needs a distributor.

Selling a Toothpaste

Thinking about your experience of buying a toothpaste. Did you go to Colgate’s factory and purchased it from them? I guess not. More than likely you went to Tesco, Asda, Walmart or any supermarket in your area to buy the product. Colgate in this case is the manufacturer like any online product manufacturer and the supermarket is the distribution channel.

Why should an online product be any different. They too need a distribution channel and people to sell to. In return the distributors get their cut and the manufacturer a market.

Free E-book to download

If you want to explore this concept further I highly recommend the book titled The Handbook of Channel Marketing (PDF). Designed specifically for anyone looking to create distribution channels and growing their business and sales. A Must Read!

Founded and managed two successful electronics companies, received 23 US patents, established an industrial computer standard in the USA and the Peoples Republic of China.
