Survey Results: Why does a company need good board of directors?

I recently asked on Facebook and Twitter as to why companies need agood BoD. Two answers summaries the sentiment fairly well.

Shefaly Yogendra: Corporate governance, detached point ov and tough questions on strategy, holding execs to accountability.

Anuvrat Singal: Board of directors / governors / trustees etc.: are required to oversee the activities / objectives of the organisations. Board of Directors are responsible for the conduct of the general operations of their respective institution and each exercises all the powers delegated by the Board of Governors under the Articles of Agreements / Association etc…Yes boards are important to have depending upon nature of company.
